Inspirational letter at the start of our trip

On our first night in Honduras, Tommy Stone read a portion of a letter that his wife Yvonne wrote to him at the beginning of our trip.  With their permission, an excerpt of that letter is below.  It encapsulates much of what we hope to achieve in this trip:

I will be praying for you every day you are away.  I know the Lord goes before you and is with you, just as he was with Joshua and the Israelites.  I will be praying for your safety, your good health, your sleep, your energy, your witness, the fellowship with the other men/women and the Hondurans, and that you will make an impact for God’s Kingdom, drawing closer to him in love.  I pray He will use this time to rekindle your love for Him and that the depth of that love will spur you to a deeper desire to obey him and a fresh new seriousness about your surrendered life.  We can get so complacent and so caught up in the things of life that are really not important at all; it is easy to lose focus on what truly is.  I think that is what Steve Brown means when he says this trip is his reset.  A time like this can bring you back in focus and show you where priorities and attitudes are wrong, what dirt needs to be cleaned from your cup, and even just remind you that to serve others instead of yourself is Joy.
